The Sight of God

By Ramone - February 27, 2006

I sketched this back on the 24th after being rocked by understandings of His light (see these pictures - Identity, Shown, Walking By Day).

I began seeing that the real "light" is His love, His sight, His agape, His path of grace. And I thought of some dirty places in town, particularly in Nishinari ward (which is where I imagined this picture and tried to make it look like) which we'd probably try to hurry through or close our noses when we go through there. It has many homeless people, many day laborers, many people who may be mentally unstable, and many others who seem generally to be depressed or without hope.

What we see is the dirt, but what God sees is different.

When I showed this to Yoko & her sister Michi, Michi said it reminded her of the verse in Isaiah 43 that talks about how we're precious to God...

"Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give men in exchange for you,
and people in exchange for your life."

He loved us so very, very much that He gave His Son in exchange for us...

"God loved the world so very, very much that he gave his only Son.
Because he did that, everyone who believes in him will not lose his life,
but will live for ever."

- John 3:16

Comments:
the same question that I was asking myself at the station the other day when I saw a homeless old man, walking in kind of imbalance mood, yet quietly, and putting his face on every trash bin, stretching his hand into it, taking out dumped magazine and put into his sack.... will I walk away or close my nose if we go on to the same train?

Missions is never romantic as it seems in the report of missionaries. Yet how God see things just challenge us on how we see things....... often, it comes back to this question: "Are we ready?", "Am I ready?"....... 難しいな
