Ardor

By Ramone - March 20, 2006

I was reading from Song of Songs 8:6-7 the other day and got this simple picture. I was left with a lot of white space and realized, yes, the words needed to go there. I adapted them to what I felt He was telling me and in the light of the cross, through which we know Love. (Look deep into that fire, His fire, Love, and that is what you will see). (^_^)

In searching for a name for this picture, I looked at the Scripture again and read that word usually rendered "jealousy" can also read as "ardor". The Yahoo reference dictionary entry says that "ardor" means:

1. Fiery intensity of feeling. (See Synonyms at passion)
2. Strong enthusiasm or devotion; zeal.
3. Intense heat or glow, as of fire.

Wow! God is cool! This is His love that burns for us, that cannot be washed away by many rivers or by any waters. It is a jealous love, jealous for us, full of fiery intensity, passion and feeling. This is His love for you and for me. Remember that His love never washes away. Our feelings go up and down, rise and wane. But His love for us never dies, never goes out.
