The Rain

By Ramone, Late 2004 (Poem by Les Camacho)

I can't remember exactly when I did this, but it was after Yoko's best friend Sachi got me some pens for my birthday (November 20th, for all you who would send me presents!). I used the pens to make this basically as a bookmark.

Les Camacho, my friend & brother in Jesus, wrote this poem awhile ago and I wanted to keep it with me in my Bible because it really speaks God's heart for His Son and for us (see Zechariah 12:10). I didn't spend long on the illustrations, and I hadn't planned to make them, but they just kind of happened as I had extra blank space between paragraphs. I didn't have to think hard about them -- they just kind of came. God is beautiful.

Comments:
"And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on Me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for Him as one grieves for a firstborn son... On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity."
(Zechariah 12:10, 13:1)

"Look, He is coming with the clouds,
and every eye will see Him,
even those who pierced Him;
and all the peoples of the earth
will mourn because of Him.
So shall it be! Amen."
(Revelation 1:7)

I can't explain it better than Les' poem. Father's tears cleanse. There are times when He has given me His heart for His Son, and I have known the mere edge of His mourning -- an infinite mourning. And it has set me free. I am afraid to go in further, Lord! I am afraid of infinite pain, the infinite sorrow of Your heart!

Yet I know nothing greater, no greater cleansing than Your Son's blood -- His poured out life for me. You are awesome, God. Lord, help me want more of Your heart, more of Your mourning heart, Father.

And I ask this for Your people, Your Church, Lord... I know You are bringing and will bring it to us more and more, so that the prophecy in Revelation will be fulfilled, that we will be filled up with all the fullness of Your Son (and thus mourning for Him) as He finally comes. Come, Lord.

Come fill us with Your heart. In Jesus' name, the name of the One crucified and for whom You weep through me, and I weep, Amen.

God gave me this picture and wrote these words in my heart in the same vein: http://art-for-jesus.blogspot.com/2005/06/jujika-kara.html
